3 monsters with different namesMust first be Fusion Summoned using only Fusion Materials from your hand and field, with at least 1 monster from each. If this card is Fusion Summoned by a Spell Card or effect: You can draw cards equal to the number of cards used as material from the hand, and if you do, destroy cards your opponent controls equal to the number of cards used as material from the field. You can only use this effect of “Guardian Chimeraonce per turn. WhilePolymerizationis in your GY, your opponent cannot target this card with card effects.

Guardian Chimera is the most valuable (core) card from the Booster Display Set Battle of Chaos. The set released on the 10th February 2022.

Obtaining three monsters with distinct names is a common strategy in the game of YuGi-Oh, and many players use hand traps to achieve this. However, things can become more challenging when you must use both your hand and field. In this case, you’ll need to have two monsters in your hand or on your field, and all three must have different names. Despite this, it’s still possible to achieve in almost every deck.

When using the hand versus the field, it affects the second effect of Chimera, allowing you to draw cards up to the number of materials used from the hand, as long as you’ve Fusion Summoned Chimera through a spell or effect. Additionally, you’ll be able to pop cards on your opponent’s field equal to the number of materials used on your field. For example, if you use a Fusion card, two monsters in your hand, and one on your field, you’ll get Chimera, draw two cards to replace in your hand, and destroy one card on your opponent’s field.

Using Fusion Spells like Albaz Fusion or Super Polymerization gives Chimera a targeting card effect protection, which is a unique feature. Chimera is a powerful Fusion monster with 3300 ATK and now with the added protection against targeting effects. Even without using Polymerization, Guardian Chimera is an excellent card to consider, with its high ATK, easy summoning, and its ability to draw and pop cards upon it’s summon. Additionally, using Super Polymerization can result in a board-wipe for your opponent if done correctly, despite the cost of a card and Super Poly set. If you frequently Fusion Summon, this card is definitely worth looking into.
